ATLANTA -- If you want to register to vote in the upcoming presidential election, you have less than a week to do it.

The deadline is Tuesday, October 9th so you still have a few days. The Help Desk wants to remind you of a few things. To register to vote in the state of Georgia you must 1) be a citizen of the United States; 2) Be a legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you wish to vote and 3) be at least 18 years of age on Election Day.

Residents registering to vote for the first time and registered voters who want to update their information both need to fill out a voter registration form. Once the form is received, precinct cards are mailed within two to three weeks of that receipt.
