MABLETON, Ga. -- A 24-year-old Mableton woman was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to murdering her sister.
Chakaya Brittney Folborg admitted in court Wednesday that she stabbed 21-year-old Kourtney Dyches to death in their Mableton home in February 2012.
Cobb County Assistant District Attorney Sherwin Figueroa said Folborg, who was adopted into Dyches' family as an infant, stabbed her sister at least six times in the shower.
"This victim was a vibrant young lady with the rest of her life ahead of her," Figueroa said in court.
A Cobb County Superior Court judge accepted Folborg's plea and sentenced her. She will be eligible for parole after serving 30 years.
