ATLANTA -- The senior pastor of the church where the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. preached delivered the closing prayer during the presidential inaugural prayer service at the Washington National Cathedral.

Rev. Raphael Warnock of Ebenezer Baptist Churchoffered the prayer Tuesday during the service, which isdesigned to bestow interfaith blessings at the start of a new presidential administration.

President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and their families attended the service.

The interfaith servicefeatured prayer, readings, and musical performances.

Inaugural prayer services have been held at the cathedral since President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's first inauguration in 1933. President Bill Clinton was an exception, holding both his inaugural prayer services at the Metropolitan AME Church, a historic black church in downtown Washington.
