ATLANTA -- A woman was arrested for hitting and killing a pedestrian on Interstate 285 Sunday morning.
Tabatha Williams, 24, was charged with vehicular homicide, DUI and reckless driving in the accident.
The pedestrian was hit at around 4:45 a.m. on southbound I-285 just south of Langford Parkway.
Atlanta Police spokesman Greg Lyon said the victim, whose name was not released, was standing on the road's right shoulder when Williams' car swerved and hit him.
Williams was arrested at the scene. A passenger in her car suffered minor injuries and was treated at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Lyon said police have not determined why the pedestrian was standing on the shoulder.
