FAIRBURN, Ga. -- Fairburn Police are looking for a suspect who led officers on a high speed chase before crashing his car into an SUV and a MARTA bus stop.

Friday morning, police identified the suspect as 43-year-old Alan D. Richardson.

The incident began at around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, when police tried to pull over a car on Highway 29. The driver turned off his headlights and sped away, according to Fairburn Police Sgt. Anthony Bazydlo.

The suspect's car turned onto Highway 138 and crossed into Union City. Bazydlo said the car crashed into an SUV, then ran into a MARTA bus stop just before the intersection of Highway 138 and Interstate 85.

Two people inside the SUV suffered non-life-threatening injuries. One woman at the bus stop was seriously injured and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital; other pedestrians waiting for the bus sustained minor injuries.

As of 10:30 a.m. Friday, the female victim is recovering at Grady.

Bazydlo said Richardson ran from the scene and is still at large. Two passengers in the car stayed inside and cooperated with police.

Richardson faces charges of driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, fleeing and attempting to allude police, and other minor traffic offenses. He has two outstanding warrants for failure to appear.

Bazydlo said Richardson's license has been suspended eight times.
