ATLANTA -- One person was shot and another was pistol-whipped after leaving a northwest Atlanta recording studio Thursday morning.

The incident happened at around 4 a.m. near 800 Forrest Street.

Atlanta Police Capt. Jack Snowden said a group of four or five people had just left the studio when a white Ford Crown Victoria with tinted windows pulled up alongside them. A suspect got out of the car, hit one of the victims in the face with a gun and took his wallet. The suspect then shot a second victim in the back.

All the victims ran from the scene. Snowden said the pistol-whipped man, identified as Ryan Smith, was discovered at Tallulah and Antone streets. The man who was shot, Rashad Kele, was found at nearby Holmes Street and Northside Drive; he was alert and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Atlanta Police spokesman Greg Lyon said Smith suffered a cut to the mouth.

Snowden said police are now searching for the Crown Victoria and any suspects. No names have been released.
