FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- You could call it "exasperation corner." It's written all over drivers' faces as they wait ... and wait ... and wait to turn onto Campbellton Road.

Fredrick Farmer has experienced this situation many times. He's lived in the area his entire life and calls the intersection of Campbellton and Union roads "just a nightmare."

It wasn't always this way. Farmer remembers the days when the intersection rarely produced a frown. That was before the arrival of new subdivisions on Union Road, and before Campbellton Road became such a popular route into the city of Atlanta.

Now, commuters get in line and traffic backs up on Union Road as drivers wait for an opening to make their turn on Campbellton Road.

"By the time you do get a little break from one direction, traffic picks up in another direction," Farmer said.

Farmer is part of a chorus of residents who've "raised their voices," crying out for a traffic light. Fulton County Commission Chairman John Eaves couldn't help but hear them.

After countless reports from upset commuters, Fulton County conducted a traffic study and determined the intersection should get a light. There are a few formalities left, but the Georgia Department of Transportation said it will happen.

The light should be in place in about four months, meaning the frustration at the busy intersection will soon be replaced with smiles.
