ALOHA, Ore. – An alleged burglar fell about 40 feet from a tree after fleeing an Aloha home Saturday afternoon.

A homeowner on Southwest Pheasant Drive called police after he said he found a man in the middle of a burglary, standing in his shower. The homeowner said he fought the suspect, later identified as 46-year-old Bret Davis, and then the Davis took off running, according to Sgt Vance Stimler of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

The homeowner said Davis had taken energy drinks and alcohol from his home, and police believe he may have been under the influence of other substances.

Officers and a K-9 quickly tracked down Davis and found him around 40 feet up a tree. Davis refused to come down from the tree, instead climbing higher until he eventually fell out of the tree after around half an hour, Stimler said.

Davis was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was later booked in the Washington County Jail on burglary, robbery, assault and theft charges.
