ATLANTA -- More than 50 volunteers with the Home Depot Foundation helped to transform the homes of two Georgia veterans.

We caught up with the volunteers helping out Calvin Whitehead in Southeast Atlanta.

Whitehead served our country from 19-46 to 19-54. He and his wife Ossia have been in their home for more than 20 years.

The volunteers helped them paint, put in floors and finish some landscaping. They say they want to make sure veterans have a safe place to call home.

The Home Depot Foundation says it's invested more than $65 million to help spruce up the homes of veterans.
