Republican U.S. Senate candidate David Perdue is apologizing after criticizing opponent Karen Handel for not having a college degree he is apologizing.

Some say his comments suggested she was less qualified to run for the seat being left vacated by Saxby Chambliss.

A spokesperson from the Handel campaign says she has accepted the apology, but said he owes an apology to other Georgians who were offended by his statement.

Perdue's camp says his comment wasn't meant to offend anyone.
