ATLANTA -- The Commissioner of the City of Atlanta's Department of Public Works says the department is prepared for a possible wintery blast expected to hit Metro Atlanta sometime tomorrow.

The timing of the storm is still in question and much of the colder air is predicted to stay to the Northern portion of the viewing area. Nonetheless, City crews are on stand by in case sleet or freezing rain falls within City limits.

After the storm of the Century, in January, 2011, the City invested a million dollars to bolster its snow removal resources. Mendoza says the City went from 7 sand/salt spreaders to 30, from 4 plows to 40.
