(WXIA) – Much of the United States was cheering in front of their television sets early Monday evening, as Team USA defeated Ghana in the first round of the World Cup.
Delta Air Lines, in much the same way that plenty of other American companies did, cheered Team USA and posted cheers of encouragement on Twitter.
The catch? Delta posted a photo of a giraffe to represent Ghana. Giraffes don't live in Ghana.
Delta pulled the tweet down and apologized for its erroneous choice. Another catch though – they apologized for their "precious" tweet.
Yep, so they pulled that one and finally posted an apology that took.
Their final sentiment is one echoed across the board: "Best of luck to all teams."
