A 19-year-old Atlanta man reeled in a monster catch while on a father-son trip in Canada over Father's Day weekend.
On the first day of a three-day trip with his father Ron in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Paul Jarvis hooked into one of the largest white sturgeon ever caught on the Fraser River, according to Great River Fishing Adventures.
Managing the sea creature became a true father-son adventure, Paul Jarvis said.
After an hour-long battle, the boat's lead guide Dean Work of Great River Fishing Adventures brought the sturgeon to shore, where it was tagged and then released.
The beast measured at 11-feet, 10 inches long and 56 inches in girth. It's estimated that it weighed about 880 pounds.
