ATHENS, Ga. -- Junior wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell of Valdosta underwent right knee surgery Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital to repair a torn ACL. He will miss the remainder of the 2013 season as he undergoes rehabilitation; however, a full recovery is anticipated for the start of the 2014 season, according to UGA Senior Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine Ron Courson.

Mitchell sustained the injury early in Georgia's season opener at Clemson on Aug. 31. In 2012, Mitchell was the Bulldogs second-leading receiver with 40 catches for 572 yards and four touchdowns.
