(USA Today) -- Australian golfer Steve Elkington was one of the best players in the world in the early 1990s, winning 10 PGA Tour titles, including the 1995 PGA Championship.

He's more recently known for his brash antics on Twitter. Last year, Elkington went on a racist Twitter rant while playing in the Senior British Open, and also got into an argument with Ian Poulter.

On Tuesday, Elkington shared his thoughts on Michael Sam, the openly gay defensive end primed to become the first active gay NFL player in history.

Elkington followed that tweet up with a NFL Combine "joke."
