This year, there's a new face helping AJC Peachtree Road Race athletes 'get after it.'
Olympian and Reebok Training Spokesperson Carrie Tollefson is teaming up with the Atlanta Track Club for its "In Training for Peachtree, presented by Publix" program. And, she'll be joining 11Alive's on-air team at the finish line during our broadcast of the event July 4.
And, Carrie was an easy choice -- bubbly personality, great motivational skills, and enough titles and personal bests to line the entire race course.
The Minnesota native has been winning competitions since she was in eighth grade. Carrie won the state's cross country high school title her first year in high school. Years later, she became a 5-time NCAA Champion at Villanova, before winning a number of national titles, and competing in the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
In 2006, she found herself near the top of another competition: Sports Illustrated's Most Beautiful Athletes in the World. She came in fourth.
Carrie -- and her signature phrase "get after it" -- has helped runners worldwide with her weekly running and fitness show C Tolle Run.
Now, the married mother of two is helping metro-Atlantans meet their Peachtree goals. She'll provide training tips for runners in the weeks leading up to the race. Then, she'll cheer you on live during our 3.5 hours of live AJC Peachtree Road Race coverage.
