DULUTH, Ga. – The Gwinnett Gladiators unveiled the schedule for the upcoming 2014-2015 ECHL season on Wednesday.
The Gladiators will open the season on October 18 in Evansville against the IceMen. The home opener at the Arena at Gwinnett Center is against the Wheeling Nailers on Friday, October 24. The Gladiators will host the division rival Greenville Road Warriors the next night.
Twelve ECHL teams will visit the Arena at Gwinnett Center to take on the Gladiators over the course of the team's 36 home games in the new season, which runs through April 11.
The ECHL Eastern Conference champion Cincinnati Cyclones will come to town on December 13. Other teams taking on the Gladiators at home will include the Fort Wayne Komets, Evansville IceMen, Reading Royals, Toledo Walleye, Wheeling Nailers and the newest team in the ECHL, the Indy Fuel. Twenty-seven of the team's 36 home games will fall on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
Major fan promotions for the upcoming season include the Gladiators' annual Thanksgiving game on November 27 against the South Carolina Stingrays and the MLK holiday 'Kids Day Out' game on January 19 against the Cincinnati Cyclones. And by popular request, Friday night games have returned to a 7:35 p.m. start, while the puck drops on Sunday afternoon games at 2:05 p.m.
