Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Phillies claimed outfielder Ezequiel Carrera off waivers from the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday.

Carrera will join the Phillies in Atlanta for their contest on Wednesday. The 25-year-old hit .272 with 20 runs scored over 48 games last season with the Indians after being recalled on August 3.

Last season at Triple-A Columbus, Carrera swiped 25 bases, scored 65 runs and batted .294 with 19 doubles, six triples.

The Phillies designated outfielder Ender Inciarte for assignment to open a spot on the 40-man roster.
