Braves pitcher Kris Medlen had an MRI after he left a spring training game with an injury.
Braves pitcher Kris Medlen had an MRI on his pitching elbow Monday and this morning the team announced the results. Medlen left Sunday's game against the Mets in Port St Lucie in the 4th inning with a strained forearm. GM Frank Wren says Kris Medlen's MRI "does show some involvement of the ligament. We don't know the extent yet, he's going to have continued tests."
The team will get a 2nd opinion and will wait a few days to make a decision on whether or not he will need surgery.
Medlen left the braves complex today without speaking to the media.
The 28-year-old had elbow ligament replacement surgery in 2010.
With injuries to Brandon Beachy and Mike Minor, the Braves could start the season with 3 pitchers on the disabled list.
