COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- Cobb County's commission chair says the new Atlanta Braves stadium is now expected to bring in more money than first projected.
Tim Lee says the land where the stadium is set to be built brought in $300,000 last year.
When the stadium and the development around it are built, that will skyrocket to more than $12 million.
Lee says $6 million of that would go to the schools. When the project was first announced, the county only projected the schools would get about $4.5 million.
Lee says the stadium will bring in more than $132 million over a 10-year period. He credits the increase to projected growth in property tax values.
The announcement comes just 24 hours after the Braves released new renderings of what the stadium might look like.
