ATLANTA -- Just across the park from the New Center for Civil and Human Rights and down the street from the site of the new Falcons stadium, the College Football Hall of Fame is set to open its doors on August 23rd. It's a moment some thought would never come.
In 2012, the project delayed it's plans to open in 2013. The plans originally called for a 50,000 square foot, $50 million building. After re-working after that delay, the project is now 94,000 square feet with a $68 million price tag.
Thursday, Atlanta Hall Management announced a slightly-tweaked name. It will now be called "The College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-Fil-A fan experience". Tickets will go on sale August 1st and cost $19.99 for an adult. They plan to be open during the week from 10-5 and on the weekends from 9-6, but will have extended hours during game weekends.
