ATLANTA -- A motorcycle driver trying to flee police is in the hospital and will face charges after a wreck Monday morning.

According to Georgia State Patrol spokesperson Tracey Watson, a trooper noticed a motorcycle driving that failed a proper lane change and had a tag displayed incorrectly.

As the trooper tried to pull the bike over, the female driver fled, clipped the back of a pickup truck, struck the median wall, and was ejected.

This happened on I-285 northbound at Lavista Road. The woman was injured and taken to Gwinnett Medical Center.

The accident had all or most lanes of the freeway closed for about an hour.
