Hot, hot, hot today! Record breaking temperatures likely in the low 100s under very sunny skies. Humidity should stay relatively low, so the heat index will stay right around what the temperature is during the afternoon. Winds will be light from the southwest around 5-10mph.

Code Red Air Quality Alert today as well which means the outdoor air is unhealthy for most people. Children, people who are sensitive to ozone, and those with heart and lung disease are considered to be at great risk. They are advised to limit prolonged outdoor exertion during the afternoon and early evening hours when ozone concentrations are at their highest.

There's not much relief for the weekend either with temperatures staying in the low 100s. The difference will be the humidity, which will cause the heat index to peak around 105-107° on Saturday, and 102-105° on Sunday. Finally, temperatures will drop back into the low 90s by mid next week.
