TROUP COUNTY, Ga. -- An early morning storm Sunday included an EF-1 tornado in Troup County.
The National Weather Service says the twister had a peak wind of 95 mph, was 280 yards wide and was on the ground for nearly two miles.
It happened just before 2 a.m. west of Lagrange. It touched down on Newton Road just east of West Point Lake.
It continued to the southeast where trees were snapped and uprooted and one tree fell on three cars.
The tornado continued to the next block where a greenhouse was destroyed and knocked trees down on houses.
There were no serious injuries.
