Tropical storm Bertha is losing strength as it moves to the northeast. Even though the storm is far from the eastern coast, it still brought rough surf to the South Carolina and North Carolina shoreline.

The max winds at the 11pm update were at 50mph. The storm is northwest of Bermuda. It is moving to the north-northeast at 21mph. The storm will continue to lose strength. It will become a remnant low late Wednesday.

On Sunday, the storm buffeted parts of the Bahamas and the Turks & Caicos with rain and gusty winds, after passing over the Dominican Republic. Earlier, it dumped rain on Puerto Rico.
