Our high Thursday was 92 degrees. We were on track to get to the mid 90s, but storms south of Atlanta sent some rain cooled air in an outflow boundary that dropped our temperatures back to the 80s at 5 and 6pm. Morning temperatures on Friday will start in the mid 70s. We will warm up to 96 in the afternoon. The humidity will make it feel like it's over 100 degrees. There is only a slight chance of an isolated afternoon shower Friday. It will remain hot into the evening hours for the high school football games. We will still be in the upper 80s at kickof and stay in the 80s throughout the games.
The hot air sticks with us through the weekend. We continue with a 20% chance for showers on Saturday. The rain chance goes up to 30% on Sunday and Monday. That will help drop our temperatures back to the upper 80s next week.
We are also watching the tropics as a "wave" has formed in the Atlantic. This has the potential to develop into a tropical depression soon. Right now the computer models have it moving into the Caribbean. We will keep tracking it as it develops.
