We did it. Tuesday was the hottest day of the year so far. At 5:27pm, the temperature in Atlanta hit 97. That is 2 degrees hotter than the previous hottest day of the year. June 18th was 95 degrees.

We see a change in the pattern for the middle and end of the week. The rain chances go up slightly on Wednesday. It's only up to a 20% chance in the afternoon and evening. Highs will still be in the mid 90s. The better rain chances will be on Thursday. A system moves in with a little more moisture that will increase our rain chances to 50%. That will bring the high temperatures down to the upper 80s.

The rain chance goes down to 30% on Friday with a high of 89. We will have only a 20% chance for a shower Saturday and Sunday with highs back to the low 90s.
