COLLEGE PARK, Ga. -- Investigators say the crash that shut down Camp Creek Parkway Sunday night happened after a College Park Police officer failed to yield.
The wreck involved a College Park police cruiser and an SUV at Camp Creek Parkway and Airport Drive just before 9:00 Sunday night.
The police cruiser was traveling westbound on Camp Creek Parkway in the left turn lane. A white Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on Camp Creek Parkway in the second lane from the right. The patrol car failed to yield while turning left and was struck on the right side by the front bumper of the Ford Explorer.
The officer was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. The driver of the Explorer refused EMS treatment and was released at the scene.
The Georgia State Patrol has not released any names or details on possible charges.
