ATLANTA -- An early morning accident in Atlanta blocked multiple lanes of the Downtown Connector and resulted in at least one death, 11Alive's crews have confirmed.
The accident was reported early Sunday on the southbound side of the connector near the 10th/14th Street exit and involved four cars.
HERO operators on the scene reported around 1:20 a.m. that a car stalled in the middle of the Connector. Several cars swerved to try to avoid it, including an SUV, but that vehicle lost control and flipped several times. The driver in that SUV was killed.
Another car involved was damaged, and a person was transported to the hospital.
Accident investigators were on the scene.
