ATLANTA - The Atlanta Mayor is honoring the first responders who were instrumental in preventing injury and loss of life during the I-85 fire and bridge collapse.
After part of interstate 85 in Midtown Atlanta collapsed on March 30, the lack of carnage was hailed as a silver lining and the quick-moving first responders were praised for their efforts.
From directing traffic to actually putting out the intense flames that brought a chunk of I-85 falling down, first responders worked tirelessly – even in the rain – to make sure Atlantans were safe.
