Bike coalition wants to help you ‘hack your commute'

MARTA officials have been saying trains are the best option to get into and out of the city. Now, they're facing a new problem - parking lots filling up by morning commuters.

ATLANTA, Ga – Now’s a great time to polish up those rusty bike skills.

On Monday, the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition (ABC) announced it is offering free bike classes in the wake of last week’s I-85 bridge collapse, entitled “Hack Your Commute.”

The classes kick off on Friday, April 7, beginning at 6 pm, and professional cellist and bicycling advocate Ben Sollee is offering a meet and greet for those in attendance.

Other classes are being held Sunday, April 9 at 1 pm; Monday, April 10 at 11 am; and Friday, April 14, at 6 pm.

“The classes are for folks who already know how to ride a bike but want to learn more about how to get around the I-85 impacted area, as well as learn city-riding skills,” said ABC spokesperson Angela D’Amario.

The coalition is also hosting a meet and greet bike commuter breakfast on Thursday, April 6, from 7-9 am at The General Muir.
