Northwestern Habersham County in northeastern Georgia... Southwestern Rabun County in northeastern Georgia... * Until 1145 PM EDT * At 840 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This may cause minor flooding in the advisory area. 1 to 2 inches of rain has fallen in the past 60-90 minutes. An addition 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible, especially southwest of Clayton over the Tallulah River watershed. * Some locations that may experience flooding include... Clayton, Tiger, Lake Burton, Moccasin Creek State Park, Black Rock Mountain State Park, Seed Lake, Lakemont, Batesville and Mountain City. * The following streams may experience rapid rises and minor flooding: Wildcat Creek, Slick Shoal Creek, Timpson Creek, Stekoa Creek, Tiger Creek, Scott Creek, Chechero Creek, Moccasin Creek, Dicks Creek, the upper Soquee River, Raper Creek, and other tributaries into the Tallulah River. * The following locations may be impacted: .Moccasin Creek State Park Campground. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Heavy rainfall will cause rapid rises on small creeks and streams, possibly flooding low water crossings and farmland. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Turn around, dont drown.
