Storm Tracker | Massive weather system moves through the state

Cars are trying to drive through a pool of water on I-20W at Columbia Dr. Not a good idea.

11Alive StormTrackers and Traffic Trackers are following a massive weather system moving into the metro.

Intense weather is expected over the metro area during the morning commute and flash flooding is the biggest concern.

9:30 AM: Flooding has closed Williams road is closed in Gwinnett County,

8:55 AM: There is a swift water rescue underway in DeKlab County at Snapfinger Rd. and Snapfinger circle. We are working to get more information.

8:30 AM: Crews are responding to a downed tree on Washington Rd. in Marietta.

8:15 AM: Flooding at Pavilion Place off Cleveland Ave in Atlanta.

8:00 AM: Massive pool of standing water on I-20 W at Columbia Dr.

7:45 AM: Flooding reported inside Krog St. Tunnel

7:35 AM: At least a foot of standing water reported on Langford Pkwy at Dodson Rd.

7:20 AM: Standing water reported on Collier Rd., East of I-75. and Northside Drive at 14th street.

7:10 AM: Standing water reported on I-85 near Washington Rd., at Juniper and 8th street and on Harwell Rd.

7:00 AM: Standing water on Busbee pkwy and Frey Rd. One lane is closed and police are redirecting traffic.

7:00 AM: Trees down at South Marietta pkwy at the I-75 NB ramp and Washington Ave at Cole street.

7:00 AM: Catoosa County Sheriff's office confirms the county schools are on a two hour delay due to flooded roads. There are no roads closed and no reports of storm damage. 

6:50 AM: Ponding on the roads reported on I-75 at Windy Hill and Ga. 400 between Northridge and the top end of I-285.

6:47 AM: Ga. Power reports that 1,645 customers are without power.

6:30 AM: A flash flood watch is now in effect through late tonight from Carroll County to Hall County.

6:17 AM: Ga. Power is reporting that 486 customers are without power statewide.

6:00 AM: The weather system is moving more quickly than expected but it is breaking up as it enters the metro area.

5:50 AM: Winds have been around 20 to 25 mph which aren't as high as we've seen them in the past.

5:30 AM: Ga. Power is reporting that 1,198 customers are without power statewide. 888 of those are in the metro area and 114 are in the NW

5:20 AM: Flash flooding has been reported in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.

5:15 AM: Flash Flood Warning issued including Lafayette GA, Ringgold GA, Fort Oglethorpe GA until 11:15 AM
