TIMELINE | Thunderstorms heading towards Atlanta, wind advisory for NW Georgia

A few storms are going to pass through Georgia today but don't worry, it should be gone by 1 p.m.

You're morning commute was probably a little wet today, but don't fret, it'll probably dry up by the time you drive home tonight. 

Mid-morning to early afternoon

As a front pushes towards the east, the northeastern counties will experience some rain and winds between 15-20 mph. 

Atlanta and Macon will see isolated thunderstorms and scattered showers possibly between now and 1 p.m.

Between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The final line of storms will pass through northwestern Georgia and start to push up through to the Carolinas and Virginia. 

After 1 p.m. 

Sunshine and more sunshine, except for Athens to Augusta. You guys will see some strong to sever thunderstorms between 1 p.m. to around 5 p.m.  

We are expecting another line of severe weather that should be rolling in around Thursday.
