Severe thunderstorm warning expired for west Georgia counties

A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for counties in West Georgia until 6:00AM.

Cities included in the threat were Greenville, Stovall, Woodbury, Durant, Raleigh, Manchester, Pine Mountain, Pine Mountain Valley and Hamilton.

Watch Atlanta Alive throughout the morning for up to date information on severe weather alerts and updates on how the system is moving through.

The severe threat included winds up to 50 MPH and hail possibly up to the size of a quarter.

The national weather service previously issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Troup, Meriwether and Coweta counties until 8:15 AM Wednesday.

That threat for severe weather includes the possibilities of a couple of tornadoes, scattered hail up to the size of a lime and isolated wind gusts up to 70 MPH.
