Florida school district removes teacher over alleged racist podcast

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. -- A Citrus County teacher was under investigation after reports of her being involved in an alleged racist podcast.

A Citrus County schoolteacher has been secretly hosting a podcast that espouses racist views, and she used it to brag about being a teacher, the Huffington Post reports.

The website identified the teacher as Dayanna Volitich, 25, who teaches social studies at Crystal River Middle School. It said she hosts the "Unapologetic" podcast under the pseudonym "Tiana Dalichov."

The district was made aware of the 'concerning podcast' Friday and Human Resources launched an investigation immediately, according to the school district.

The teacher has since been 'removed from the classroom' and the investigation is 'ongoing,' according to a statement released by the school district.
