Kristin Crowley joined 11Alive in April of 2021 as an investigative journalist. She’s worn many hats in TV news from working behind the scenes as a field producer in Chicago to most recently anchoring the evening newscasts in Rockford, Illinois. She’s also worked in Lafayette, Indiana, Green Bay Wisconsin and Paducah, Kentucky.
Kristin has earned multiple Emmy and Murrow awards for journalism. Her first Regional Murrow Award was for her investigation into abuse at a facility for troubled children. Not long after her story aired, the facility shut down.
Investigative journalism is her greatest passion because of the impact it can have on people and communities. Kristin lives by this motto: Stand up for those who can’t be seen, speak up for those who can’t be heard. You may not change the world but you can change someone’s world.
When she’s not pursuing the latest investigation, Kristin enjoys spending time with her husband and their three rescue dogs. Piedmont Park is one of their favorite spots.
