Lindsey Basye is a Multi-Platform Producer for 11Alive News in Atlanta, Georgia. She joined the team in September 2017.
As an MPP, Lindsey wears many hats in the newsroom. Assignment desk, digital, social media, photojournalist, reporter, and editor are just some of the daily jobs that she performs.
This small-town Midwestern gal found her passion for journalism in middle school. With a background in television, radio, and print, her love of storytelling comes in all forms.
Born and raised in Michigan, Lindsey started her broadcast news career in Lansing, before moving onto Grand Rapids. She came to 11Alive from FOX 17, where she was a Special Projects Producer and station administrator.
Lindsey received her bachelors degree in Journalism/Mass Communications from Olivet College.
One of her biggest roles at the station is being part of the 11Alive Investigators as she produces The Reveal and manages the digital and social storytelling for the weekly half hour investigative show.
"The work we do on this show is why I got into journalism. We are giving a voice to the people and holding the powerful accountable. We dig deeper and expose wrongdoing at all levels," explains Lindsey.
She started her investigative journey in consumer reporting when she was a FOX 17 Problem Solver. Tracking down companies and individuals to keep them to their contracts and their word. In 8 months, getting back over $100,000 to viewers who asked for help.
She works closely with the Better Business Bureau to help expose bad business practices and warn the public of different internet and phone scams.
When she isn’t chasing stories, you can usually find Lindsey on a volleyball court. She grew up playing the sport, went on to play college level and coached teen athletes for over 7 years.
She carries a lot of titles, but she says her favorite is "Aunt Lindsey" to all her nieces and nephews.
