Céline Dion's new song is a testament that the heart does indeed go on.

Fans woke up Friday to the singer's new tune, Recovering, a ballad inspired by the passing of her husband, René Angélil.

Penned by Pink, the song encapsulates the struggle to put one's life back together after losing a loved one.

"I am recovering
A hope that I lost
A part of my soul
That paid the cost
Little by little, day by day
One step at a time
Shake off the devil (oh)
Take back my piece of mind"

Dion's husband and manager died on Jan. 14 at the age of 73 after a long battle with cancer. Just days after losing her spouse of 21 years, her brother, Daniel Dion, also died from cancer.

The next month, Dion returned to the stage at the Las Vegas Colosseum, and explained while receiving the Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards how passionate she's been about music for as long as she can remember. She also thanked their children, René-Charles, Eddy, and Nelson, and, last by not least, Angélil.

"Most importantly," she began, "my beloved husband, who I know will continue to watch me from up above."
