In his 22nd film, rapper, activist, and actor David Banner has taken his skills to the next level, “Never Heard,” a film with powerful message.
“The whole premise of the movie is that my son never heard my voice,” Banner tells the A-Scene's Francesca Amiker.
“Which is why it’s called 'Never Heard.' When he was born I was just going into prison and literally when he was going into college or coming of age he started to do the same thing that I did,” Banner said.
Though Banner says he enjoys filming in Atlanta, this film brought him to the west coast.
And allowed him to work with stars like Romeo Miller who plays his son, Robin Givens who plays his wife, and Atlanta’s very own Kandi Burress is also in the film.
Banner says the story is necessary to help tell the never heard story of others.
“In a lot of cases people don’t take the stories of black man seriously. So, for me, to be able to play this part and beyond sat with so many amazing people, and to be able to tell that story is really important to me,” Banner said.
"Never Heard" will be in theaters everywhere only on Thursday, November 1st, 2018.
