Casting Call: Families wanted for upcoming Ava DuVernay series

Ava DuVernay is casting for a new project for the HBO Max!

ATLANTA — We have a casting call for local families who want to spend some time under the spotlight!

Ava DuVernay, whose directing credits include "Selma," "Greenleaf," and "Cherish The Day" is casting for a new project, “DMZ,” for the HBO Max!

The Southern Casting Call reports CL Casting is looking for groups of 2+ and parents to work on camera for the upcoming show.

Production takes place during the weekend of Feb. 29 and March 1.

“DMZ” will star Rosario Dawson and is based on a 2005 Vertigo comic book with the same title, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series is about Manhattan becoming divided following a civil war.

Dawson was announced to appear as Alma, “a fierce medic who saves lives while desperately searching for her lost son.”

Just last week, DuVernay was in Atlanta promoting her upcoming anthology series, "Cherish The Day," premiering on the Oprah Winfrey Network next month.

It appears she’ll be spending more time in Georgia this year with productions like this!

To apply, please send name, age, height, weight, phone number & 3 photos to prep@roselockecasting.com with the “Subject: FAMILY UNIT – (Number of Kids)”
