Keshia Knight Pulliam on holiday movie and romance with actor Brad James

She stopped by 11Alive’s The A-Scene to talk about the feature and her time on set while filming in Winnipeg, Canada.

ATLANTA — Keshia Knight Pulliam stars in Lifetime’s upcoming new holiday movie, “Radio Christmas”.

She stopped by 11Alive’s studios to talk with The A-Scene about the feature and her time on set while filming in Winnipeg, Canada.

“It was so cold. Apparently, when we were there it was colder in Winnipeg than on Mars," she joked. "I know when we got off the plane Ella was looking at me like, 'mama, whats going on?' The snow was taller than she was and it was very cold, but when you’re doing a Christmas movie, you can’t beat real snow."

Keshia’s character, DJ Kara Porter, is desperate to increase numbers and get promoted at her local radio station.

She seeks to uncover the identity of the town’s Secret Santa. However, along the way, she discovers the true meaning of family, community, love and, of course, Christmas.

“This is one of those movies the entire family can just sit back and love," Pulliam said. “It was really a great time. We have a great cast.”

Keisha says some of her fondest memories of the holidays are family, food, and the festivities.

“I enjoy it. It’s like my favorite holiday," she said. "I do a Christmas brunch, and all the family comes over, and its my favorite. Lifetime is giving me the license to put my Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving. Usually, I would do it the day after – not this year!"

The actress also has made room for romance. She’s currently dating actor Brad James, best known for his role as Todd in the sitcom Tyler Perry's "For Better or Worse." The two celebrated both receiving a star on the walk of fame during the grand opening of Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.

We asked Keshia when is the right time to introduce someone to your family during the holidays.

“For me - and I can speak to our relationship - we were just friends. So he met my family at the beginning. So we were just friends and it blossomed into something else,” Pulliam said.

“Radio Christmas” is a part of Lifetime’s annual It’s a Wonderful Lifetime programming event lasting through Christmas Day.

The network will feature 60-plus days of holiday movies with some of television and music’s most beloved stars, including Kelly Rowland, Melissa Joan Hart, Tia Mowry-Hardrict, Kim Fields and more.
