Marty Kemp meets Tyler Perry, teases future partnership

“It was great to meet with @tylerperry earlier this week! He’s such a genuine person who is doing great work for our community,” Kemp wrote.

ATLANTA — Tyler Perry continues making his rounds throughout Georgia, including to political offices.

Earlier this week, he apparently spent some time with Marty Kemp, the wife of Gov. Brian Kemp. The first lady posed with the media mogul and shared the moment on Twitter.

“It was great to meet with @tylerperry earlier this week! He’s such a genuine person who is doing great work for our community,” she wrote.

Kemp says she is excited to partner with Perry, although no details have been released about the two would work on together.

Recently, Gov. Kemp and first lady Marty Kemp are pledging to fight against human trafficking in the state of Georgia.

Perry will devote part of his new 330-acre movie studio in Southwest Atlanta to housing LGBTQ homeless youth.   

“He is committed to giving back to this great state we call home, and I’m excited to partner with him to make a difference! Stay tuned for updates. #gapol,” she continued.

Perry has had quite the kick off for 2020. He’s already working on several television and film projects, and he just went on Instagram sharing the news of about the success of his latest project on Netflix “A Fall From Grace.

A Fall From Grace” was streamed by 26 million during its first week of release.

This is Perry’s first film to stream on Netflix. It’s also the first time his film has been released to audiences around the world on the same day.

In a personal video message on Instagram, Perry thanked his supporters who he calls “the army.”

“I’m trying to like take this all in," he said. "My Tyler Perry audience, the army that is standing behind me. One day, you’re going to realize that I don’t walk alone because you’re all with me."

"I’m so blown away by what I just heard,” Perry said. “Netflix “A Fall From Grace” in the first seven days - 26 million people chose to watch it.”

Perry went on to thank fans “from the bottom of my heart."

"I’m grateful. I’m thankful. I'm blown away by it. I’m inspired, I’m encouraged," he said. "You guys have had my back. There’s a lot of people around here that are so happy and working very hard. I just love how y'all have always supported me. I just want to say thank you my heart is full."
