Rising professional model killed in Roswell shooting

Elijah Weems, who professionally modeled as Elijah Devine, was identified by close friends and his modeling agency in several tributes on social media.

A rising fashion model from Marietta, Georgia was killed in a shooting that left another person dead and another person injured Wednesday inside a Roswell apartment complex.

Elijah Weems, who professionally modeled as Elijah Devine, was identified by close friends and his modeling agency in several tributes on social media.

“On Wednesday, I received a devastating telephone call that one of our talent, Elijah Weems (Divine), earned his heavenly wings. Although Elijah was only 23 yrs. old, his Spirit and wisdom was well beyond his early years,” Rodney Harris, owner of Slamm Management, a talent agency, wrote on the company Facebook. “Although he may not physically be with us anymore, his Spirit will continue to soar and watch out over us all.”

Harris tells The A-Scene’s Ryan J. Dennis that Weems, 23, was following his dreams of being an actor and model and started to land gigs. More recently, he did a photoshoot with Nike.

Weems played basketball for the University of Charleston Golden Eagles during the 2015-16 school year.

Roswell Police continue to investigate the shooting that happened inside the Roswell Pointe Condominiums off Lake Point Circle around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to police, one of the men who were shot made the call to police.

Police haven't released any information on a potential suspect, but they don't believe this shooting was random

The second victim has been identified as 19-year-old LeTreyveonn Wise.

A celebration of life will take place next week for Weems.
