ATLANTA — Police are investigating the events that stirred before more than 60 shots were fired at a recording studio in NW Atlanta on Friday.

Officers tell 11Alive that it at happened 1:46 a.m before officers arrived at 1000 Northside Dr NW responding to a call about shots fired from a block away.

Numerous shell casings were found on the road at 949 Image Ave NW and offers later found a black Hyundai Santa Fe in the parking lot with multiple bullet holes. 

The car was vacant when officers began their investigation, but belongs to a woman who reportedly left the shooting moments before it happened at about 12:45 a.m.

There are surveillance cameras at the location so police are beginning to scan footage for their investigation.

Police tell us there was no contact information for who owns the studio.
