ATLANTA — Tyler Perry is set to officially open the new headquarters for his mega production studio, Tyler Perry Studios, next month.
As execs, crew members, and the man himself prepares for the next chapter, the Twitter account for Tyler Perry Studios went down memory lane.
“Greenbriar, was the home of Tyler Perry Studios from 2007 to 2016,” the studio shared in the post . “The 60-acre campus had five sound stages, four office buildings, executive suites, post production facilities, a theater, a commissary and a fitness center.”
Described as “a place where even dreams believe. Atlanta’s premiere film studio,” the studio, has already birthed production of over 15 films and almost 800 episodes of Tyler’s five television series.
Productions such a “First Man” starring Ryan Gosling, 2018’s “Black Panther,” and TV shows like “Divorce Court” and MTV’s “Wild N Out” have been filmed at the new Tyler Perry Studios.
In August, Perry shared a newly-updated highway sign, just one mile from Tyler Perry Studios.
The sign originally read Fort McPherson, which is the historic Army base that was mostly sold to Perry in 2016. He purchased 330 acres of the historic land on the decommissioned Fort McPherson Army Base.
“Driving into work today I saw these signs on the highways being changed. My eyes filled with water knowing what God has allowed to happen in my life,” Perry shared in a Facebook post last month. “Atlanta has truly been the promised land for me. I came here with nothing, lived off Sylvan Road, ended up homeless and starving, but I was always praying and believing.”
Tyler Perry Studios is already poised to become one of the largest motion picture studios in the U.S.
