Artist lineup for Freaknik 2020 announced

2 Live Crew, Too Short, Plies, Dungeon Family, Lil Scrappy, East Side Boyz, Lil Scrappy are some of the other acts scheduled to perform.

ATLANTA — The lineup for the rescheduled Freaknik Festival has dropped.

After 9 Partners, the organizers and promoters for Freaknik, made the announcement on their Instagram, Friday, after asking a vote from followers.

“Ladies & Gentlemen we was originally going to hold off posting due to COVID-19 until YOU changed our mind! 98% of you voted YES for us to release the lineup stating ‘You need to hear some good news during this time,” the promoters wrote in an Instagram post.

According to the organizers, Jermaine Dupri will headline a set featuring artists from his So So Def roster. 2 Live Crew, Too Short, Plies, Dungeon Family, Lil Scrappy, East Side Boyz, Lil Scrappy are some of the other acts scheduled to perform.

“We have worked hard on this lineup ever since November and we was really trying to COMPLETELY out do ourselves. We hope you enjoy it! Also note, THERE ARE BIGGER NAMES TO COME,” the statement continued.

Ticket sales for the upcoming “The Last Great Festival of the Summer,” have been lowered.

“So you get over 50 Artists, 3 Days of Fun, for as low as $16 a day! See you September 18,” the statement announced.

Last month, After 9 Partners faced a mix-up in planning the festival.

Carlos Neal, CEO of After 9 Partners, said the contract he signed to have the festival at Cascade Driving Range was no longer valid. The venue for the fall festival was then changed to be hosted at Morris Brown College.
