Will Packer: Atlanta dubbed capitol of single women

We may be the home of the top productions in the world, but mega producer Will Packer and comedian extraordinaire Tommy Miles tells me we're also the capitol of single women.

Award-winning producer Will Packer is back at it again with his newest production and no this time it is not a movie. The A-Scene’s Francesca Amiker sat down with him and Nephew Tommy, the host of his new show, as they try to salve a never-ending problem of our city.

“Why Atlanta? Why not Atlanta,” Amiker asked.

“Everyone says it’s so hard to date in Atlanta every single day. We got you! We got you,” Packer expressed.

We may be the home of the top productions in the world, but mega producer Will Packer and comedian extraordinaire Tommy Miles tells me we're also the capitol of single women.

The ratio is like 20 to 1 women to men. So, to solve that Miles took on the daunting task of helping 20 singles look for everlasting love over the course of 10 weeks.

“Ready to Love,” a dating series from Will Packer Media and Lighthearted Entertainment, explores the real-life dating interactions of sexy, successful and grown Black men and women in their 30s and 40s who are each looking for lasting love and an authentic relationship.

A unique twist on a typical dating show, “Ready to Love,” highlights the men’s observations and experiences in the search for true love in Atlanta.

Will Packer Media’s Kelly Smith, Lighthearted’s Rob LaPlante and Jeff Spangler also executive produce along with Anthony Sylvester.

“We had a guy who came in to audition for the show and he was saying he was ready to love, but he was looking for and he let it slip and was like yeah because my wife and we were like your wire? He told his wife he was going to the store and he went to audition for dating show,” Packer said.

Packer tells The A-Scene the difference with this show is that the singles are older, more mature and some have even been married...so they're really ready to love.

“So, what qualifies you to tell us what it takes to love,” Amiker asked.

“I’ve seen a lot and gone through a lot. I’ve been with my wife a long time,” Tommy said.

Catch “Ready to Love” Tuesday night on the Oprah Winfrey Network at 10pm EST.
