ATLANTA – Let the countdown to 2018 begin as Atlanta tops the list of 'Best Places for New Year's Eve.'
WalletHub compiled a list of 100 cities so you can make sure you ring in the new year right. The company looked at several factors including cost of food, entertainment, and safety.
Atlanta came in as the third best city to celebrate behind, no surprise, New York, and Orlando. Rounding out the top ten included Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Las Vegas, and more.
Atlanta will be ringing in 2018 a little different than past years. This year, the Peach Drop will be moved from Underground Atlanta to Woodruff Park where the peach will drop from Atlanta's oldest standing skyscraper, the 120-year-old Flatiron Building.
Gates to the free New Year's Eve event open at 5:30 p.m. and entertainment begins at 7 p.m.
New this year is a NYE countdown celebration at The Battery. They are hosting a family party from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Starting at 9 p.m. the adult party begins. Both are free events and people can enjoy performances and fireworks once the clock strikes midnight.
