Every year since 1944, thousands across metro Atlanta have ascended a little closer to heaven to celebrate Easter Sunday atop Stone Mountain.
Early morning temperatures were in the 40s, but that didn't damper the spirits or the oratory that accompanied the annual Atlanta tradition.
