ATLANTA — The Bureau of Labor Statistics released their report for June on Friday, and they paint a bright picture for the economy.
The BLS found that total non-farm payroll employment increased by 224,000 jobs across America. The overall unemployment rate however, has stayed at a 50-year low at 3.7%.
Despite citizens and economists worries about how President Donald Trump's tax cuts would effect the job market, the American economy is thriving. The stock market hit record highs on Wednesday. There was also an increase in jobs across several different areas and markets.
The biggest spike in new jobs was seen in professional and business services, which added 51,000 jobs. Healthcare came in as a close second, seeing a 35,000 career increase. Transportation, warehousing, construction, and manufacturing created 62,000 jobs total.
After 121 months of uninterrupted economic growth, economists still expect growth to continue.
